DAY 1 – Matera
Arrival in Terranova di Pollino or San Costantino Albanese and accommodation in a farmhouse. Asparagus and sausage omelette, legume soup, bean purée, mischiglio… are some of the dishes that you can taste at dinner, to be ready for the first stage, the crossing of the Pollino Park. Overnight.
DAY 2 – Lake of San Giuliano and Irsina
A long descent will take you along the San Giuliano Lake, a wildlife and naturalistic oasis. Going up the Bradano river you reach Irsina, a city of medieval origin with a rich historic center and beautiful views of the endless wheat fields that surround it.
Distance: 49 Km.
Grade: moderate
DAY 3 – towards Miglionico
Cross the Bradano river and go up towards Grassano. After stopping in Grottole, you reach Miglionico, with its beautiful castle and the Mother Church, rich in paintings and sculptures. Overnight.
Distance: 44 km.
Grade: moderate
DAY 4 – Montescaglioso and the Abbey
Go back down to the valley to reach Montescaglioso, an important village in the past due to the presence of the imposing Benedictine Abbey, not to be missed. Go up to Matera along the Murgia Materana Park. Overnight

3 days by bike on hill paths with increasing levels of difficulty.
